Real growth doesn’t come from hacks and shortcuts

I know these words don’t activate dopamine like “10x your MRR with this little known strategy” — but ask any business owner how they accelerated their growth and exactly 0 of them will say they 10x’d revenue by doing one thing they learned on TikTok.

FOMO advertising is rampant and polluting our brains. It’s also distracting us from what actually works. The stuff that really creates business growth is forging strong strategic relationships that result in productive collaboration and custom strategies. This is so much better than cookie-cutter blueprints that are applied to businesses in bulk . . .

Chris Bolton standing next to board with post-its, organic lead gen specialist for agencies

Hi, I’m Chris

I can help you drive new business

But this will only work if we build a relationship (luckily, I’m a pretty friendly fellow). The focus at my agency, Diviner, is to help agencies build systems that generate inbound leads. Because it’s pretty awesome when a stranger shows up on your doorstep and wants to work with you!

Maybe we can 10x your leads, but not in a month, and that’s not really the goal. Growth should be more wholistic to really stick. That means maturing and learning in all areas of your business — thinking in new ways and seeing through new lenses. When you do this, it changes everything, not just your marketing.

Do I get an expert badge? You be the judge

For the last 20 years I’ve worked at the intersection of brand strategy and technical SEO. My methods usually involve: brand strategy, positioning, offer building, SEO, content strategy, authority building, and the newest acronym — GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

My biggest success was the inbound pipeline I grew for my former agency. For a small 25-person agency we almost always had more inbound opportunities than we could handle. In fact, we subsisted on organic inbound leads alone for 15 years. But I don’t recommend relying on one channel — when you level up, your whole business needs to come along for the ride.

How to build a lead gen engine in your agency

Brand Positioning

Brand strategy and positioning is the foundation of marketing. So we have to start there. If your brand and positioning are not strong, marketing is a waste of money.

Quick Wins

With a technical SEO background there are almost always neglected areas in a brand’s web presence. I recently found a slew of inbound links going to 404 pages — redirecting them boosted rankings significantly in just a few hours.

Prioritization & Strategy

Once we’ve got the quick wins out of the way it’s time to make a list of initiatives and strategies and prioritize them. These are things we can work on together and share responsibilities.

Tracking & Reporting

We’ll meet monthly to go over goals, progress, and analytics. Data helps us understand your audience and what has wings versus what is struggling to take off.

Methods and Madness

Authority-driven SEO & GEO

We align your expertise with search intent — so whether it’s Google or AI-driven search tools, you show up as the trusted expert, not just another agency.

Content strategies for long term growth

Content strategies need to adapt to our new environment. Authenticity and being human stand out in an AI-generated world.

Brand mentions & strategic placement

We focus on brand presence — getting your agency mentioned in the right places so your reputation grows naturally.

Data-backed strategy and reporting

With ongoing insights, we can refine and optimize our strategy to ensure it keeps compounding in value.

Let’s ditch the feast-or-famine rollercoaster and build an engine for sustainable growth at your agency. If you want more leads tomorrow, you need to start 6 months ago — but if you want to build a sustainable system for compounding growth over time, we can probably do some amazing things together.
